    DANSBY VOGLER IS A ROAD WARRIOR

    By the time he reached the age of 17, he had lived in 8 different cities, moved into (and out of) 11 houses, attended 10 different schools and made more friends than a Quaker. He has traveled 2 million air miles, landed in over 100 airports and gathered enough experiences to write a book--or in this case, an extensive collection of songs…

    Dansby is in his 30th year as a performing songwriter. He is a multiple year winner of the song competition at the Walnut Valley Festival ("Winfield"); he has played at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville--the "Mecca for songwriters like Garth Brooks, Rodney Crowell and more; he has performed for audiences from 1 to over 800…

    He says, “I worked in corporate America for years doing what they wanted me to do so I could come home and make this my living. I believe in the gift I've been given; it would be a sin to waste it.”

    Dansby's performance idol was his father's WWII shipmate, banjo maestro and film star Eddy “King of the Banjo” Peabody. “As a 5 year old I sat on his lap, steering his white Cadillac convertible as he drove us around Springfield, IL before a concert that night. He played an entire show for an excited crowd on the last night of his life, then passed directly from the stage to the Great Beyond. That's the way to go!”

    Dansby focuses much of his live performances on Senior communities. Why?

    “Because we've shared many of the same experiences, because they pay attention, and they're not shy about laughing and singing along. Audiences like that are a treasure.”
